As a dreamer, your slumber is not merely rest... instead, it seems to be a gateway to far-off realms and fantastical visions. Dreams are your playground, an endless tapestry where reality blends with your imagination. Whether they are prophecies, cryptic messages, or simply whimsical journeys, your dream-filled nights have shaped your waking life. These nocturnal adventures grant you a unique perspective, pulling you towards distant horizons and mysteries that others might overlook.


NOTE: Some backgrounds have options to choose from. Please read carefully. You may not get every proficiency listed below, as some may be a choice between one or the other.

  • Stat Options (choose either +2 in one stat and +1 in another, OR +1 in all three): Dexterity, Intelligence, Charisma
  • Skill Proficiencies (your choice of TWO): Acrobatics, Arcana, or Performance
  • Tool Proficiencies: Your choice of one between Calligrapher's Supplies, Weaver's Tools, or Scrimshander's Tools.
  • Languages: Two Standard languages of choice. (Two Exotic languages can be taken in place of the Tool Proficiency.)

  • Background Keepsake: A small token you keep with you when you dream, such as a stuffed animal, ring, or trinket (value under 10gp).
  • Background Gold: 5gp.

Origin Trait

Origin Artist

Your allies can add half your Proficiency Bonus, (rounded down) when they roll a die using Inspiration, or when they use their Renown Die, so long as they are within 20 feet of you, no action required. This does not stack with additional Origin Artist Feats.

Dreamers are usually imaginative, introspective, and often contemplative. They navigate the world with a sense of wonder, drawn to art, mysteries, and the hidden meanings behind everyday occurrences. Their strong connection to dreams can inspire creativity and vision but may also blur the boundaries between what is real, and what is only in their imagination.
