You once lived in the mundane world, but a whimsical encounter with the fey changed everything. Whether by accident or design, you were swapped with a fey creature, experiencing a transformation that forever altered your identity. Now, you embody traits of the fey; perhaps you exhibit otherworldly beauty or possess a knack for enchantment or guile. While your heart yearns for the familiarity of your former life, your new abilities and perspective allow you to see the world through vibrant, magical lenses. Or perhaps you were swapped at such a young age that you never knew any different, before being tossed back into the Material Plane, or having accidentally wandered back.
- Stat Options (choose either +2 in one stat and +1 in another, OR +1 in all three): Dexterity, Intelligence, Charisma
- Skill Proficiencies (your choice of TWO): Acrobatics, Nature, or Persuasion
- Tool Proficiencies: One Gaming Set and two Musical Instruments of choice.
- Languages: One Standard language of choice, and Sylvan.
- Background Keepsake: A token or keepsake from either of your lives with sentimental value (value under 10gp).
- Background Gold: 5gp.
Origin Trait
Origin Magician
If you have the spellcasting class feature you learn 1 additional cantrip from the wizard class spell list and now becomes a spell of your class list. If you do not have the spellcasting class feature you gain a +1 to the arcana skill. At 5th level you gain a 1st or 2nd level added to your spells known from the wizard spell list if you have the spellcasting class feature and now becomes a spell on your class spell list, or gain a +2 to the arcana skill if you don't have the spellcasting class feature. (This replaces the +1)
